Thanks for checking out my page and wanting to learn more. Here is my bio taken from XFit2You’s coaches page so you can get a quick history of my fitness background.

I incorporate Pilates in my training to enhance core stability and increase flexibility; two things important in creating a balanced body.

I’ve been around sports my entire life – observing, learning, playing. I served as first leg of the two-mile relay in the Jr. Olympics, placing first in state and fourth in the nation with my amazing team. In my youth, I achieved great success and have many medals from back in the day. I grew up in the country and having an older brother (and many boy cousins), really helped me learn how to run – fast and long  – which helped build my endurance. I’d say I’m an endurance athlete more than anything else, which is why I’m currently working on strength and conditioning.

Coach Jenn, Pilates Instructor, a long time resident of Austin and a native of Yoakum, Texas, has a degree in Mass Communication from Texas State University and is finishing up her graduate studies in Communication Design. Jenn completely changed her lifestyle several years ago after realizing she had put on the extra “stress” pounds that came along with a new career and more responsibilities. She dabbled in Yoga during her undergraduate studies and found Pilates in 2006 when she joined a local YMCA – Pilates, Power Pump, and running were her staple – and then one day,

… during a Pilates class I was approached by YMCA’s Fitness Director and asked if I had interest in becoming an instructor… the rest is history. I fell in love with the movements and have become more flexible now than I was in my teens.

The amazing changes she has seen in her body and the knowledge she has gained over the years inspired her to want to help others with their struggles and to personally become more involved in the fitness community. Jenn’s a design and creative head who helps other small businesses in the health and fitness industry get started. Last year she started her own creative agency. She found what she loved, took her skills and dove right in!

Certified AFAA Group Fitness Instructor: Pilates & Yoga/Pilates Ball, Mad Dogg Spinning®

Jenn is currently training for the Texas Shredder, managing her creative agency, earning her MFA at Texas State University, coaching and working towards her reformer certification.

My number one take away, it’s all about form… if you don’t know what you’re doing you’re not really benefiting from the movement.

Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Gandhi
